Questions about transmitters

Answers to your questions.

General questions

“Press the ‘learn’ button on the receiver for 1 second. During 15 seconds the LED on the receiver will blink slowly. Send -while blinking- an “”Off”” signal from the transmitter you want to unsubscribe. The receiver will confirm by flashing the connected light twice.

In the same way as for the first transmitter. Up to 6 transmitters can be stored in the receiver’s memory (3 for APA receivers).

Press the ‘learn’ button on the receiver for 1 second. During 15 seconds the LED on the receiver will blink slowly. Send -while blinking- an “On” signal from the transmitter you want to learn. The receiver will confirm by flashing the connected light twice.

Press the “on” button of the remote control/wall switch once to switch on the lamp. Press “on” again to activate the dimming cycle. The brightness now slowly varies from weak to strong and back to weak. Press the “on” button a third time to save the brightness in memory and to stop the dimming cycle.

You have inadvertently activated the dimmer’s dimming cycle by sending another “on” signal to the receiver while the light was on. Switch the light off and back on again to allow the dimmer to return to the set brightness level.

A free-field range of 75 metres is no exception. Indoors, we use a range of about 30 metres. In our view, a signal is always sent; it also always reaches the receivers, provided:

  • The distance is bridgeable
  • There are no barriers in the form of steel (a lot of reinforcement in concrete and/or metal foil in heat resistant glass)
  • The air is ‘clean’ (no other – temporary – RF signal in the air)

If the signal cannot bridge the distance you can always consider a signal amplifier/repeater (AEX-701)

Press the learn button on the amplifier for 1 sec. The LED on the AEX-701 will start flashing. Then press the on button of the device you want to amplify (e.g. backyard light) in your phone or tablet. The AEX is now paired and will send the signal.

To delete the set codes (reset the memory):

  1. Press the LEARN button.
  2. Keep it pressed until the LED on the front starts flashing rapidly.
  3. This happens after approx. 6 seconds
  4. Now release the LEARN button.
  5. Now briefly press the LEARN button again during the rapid flashing.
  6. The LED now switches on and off 2 times as confirmation

Now the memory is empty and you can register the transmitter again:

  1. Briefly press the LEARN key.
  2. The LED at the front starts flashing slowly.
  3. The LED flashes for 15 seconds
  4. While it is flashing, give an ON signal with the transmitter.
  5. The LED now goes on and off 2 times in confirmation
